Y.P.S. was founded in 1977 as a sales agency for marine industry related products. At that time, we rented a small Seattle office across the street from Gas Works Park. Twenty-five years ago, Ned Johnson, the owner of Y.P.S., was attending a major boat show in Chicago; he met Ake Skeppner, who was representing a small family-owned company in Sweden called Thule. Within six months, Y.P.S. was hired as one of Thule's first U.S. sales rep agencies.
Thule was the first of many outdoor recreation companies that Y.P.S. began representing. We curently represent outdoor products that cover watersports, bicycling, hiking and winter sports.
Y.P.S., Inc. has three full-time outside salespeople and one full-time office manager/inside salesperson based in the Seattle office, as well as one full-time outside salesperson based in Portland, Oregon.
